3. Data minimization

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service. We do not collect:

This data is tied to your account and visible only to you. For institutional accounts, aggregated anonymized data may be shared with your institution's administrators for cohort-level reporting.

5. No real patient data

SUTURE is an educational simulation tool. All scenarios are entirely fictional. We do not collect, store, or process any real patient information or clinical records.

This app is not for real-time clinical decision-making and does not interact with patient data systems.

6. No ads, no data selling

We do not:

  • Show advertisements within the app
  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Share your data with advertisers or marketing companies
  • Use your data for purposes beyond providing and improving SUTURE

7. Data sharing and disclosure

We may share limited data with:

Service providers: Trusted third-party services for hosting, analytics, and customer support. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.

Institutional administrators: If you use SUTURE through an institution (university, hospital, training program), aggregated anonymized performance data may be shared with your institution for educational oversight.

Legal compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights, or to respond to legal requests.

We do not share your data for marketing or commercial purposes.

8. Security practices

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
  • Secure authentication and password hashing
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Access controls limiting who can view your data
  • Secure cloud infrastructure with reputable providers

While we take security seriously, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

9. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
